If you are working with the same Consultant and made your Project Calendar with vacation and working hours and working days for the Project lifetime.
Then you have a new Proo to Create a new Calendar with the same Specs. So, we will save you time and teach you how to Copy the Calendar from one Project to another with a Few Steps.
Another Scenario, If you have an Exported Project and want to use the Calendar on it, you will only convert it to global and reuse it in your next Project.
If your consultant asks you to assign more than one Calendar to your Schedule, here is an article that will help you figure it out
First step
From Enterprise Choose Calendar
You will find the assigned Calendar of your Project as a Project Calendar
So, once you Click on “To Global” The Calendar will be Converted to a Global Calendar which can be easily assigned to any other Project with the Same Vacation and Working Hours.
After Clicking on “To Global “you will find that the Calendar is no longer in the Project’s Calendar
Goto Global you will find your Calendar.
Second Step
If you open the project, you want to assign the Calendar.
From Columns Choose Calendar from General.
You need to assign the Calendar to the First Activity
Click on the First Activity and choose our new columns.
After Clicking on Calendar Cell this will Show Up, You can choose our Calendar from the other Project and Click on the right button to assign it to the activity.
As you see here, the First activity has the assigned Calendar
We need to assign the calendar to all the Activities as the First Activity
Click on the First Cell, click on “shift “and choose the Last Activity then “Ctrl + E”
Third Step
Here you can see that all the activities have the same Calendar and the WBS has the Last Calendar.
So, you need to Assign the Calendar for the WBS by the Assign to the Project
Here is the New Calendar assigned to the Whole Project Activity and WBS
Side Note: The Change of the Calendar may affect the Total duration of the Project, If the new Calendar has more days than the Last assigned one it will give you a Positive Float.
But if the New Calendar has the year Vacations and fewer days than the last Calendar, It will give you a Negative Float, Fine tuning is a must-step to Do.
