Negative float is an annoying problem in any, I will tell you how to fix the decimals negative total float in a primavera schedule by applying these simple steps.
Example of avoiding negative float using control milestones:
Our Case Study here is a Full Project with a Start date and finish date and total float=zero, Till now.
Step 1:
From edit choose user preferences.
So, once you Click on “Time Units” this box will appear.
Then Change “decimals” from 0 to 2 and click close.
here the negative total float appears equal to -0.10!
Step 2:
From edit choose user preferences.
then go to “dates” and choose “show minutes and 24 hours”
Step 3:
Go to the Main Projects menu, highlight the project, select and “must finish by” Change the time to your daily working hours in our case the end of the daytime is 16:00.
Step 4:
Back to your activities and check that all the activities have start and end times in your project Calendar.
then the negative total disappears, and the total float is equal to zero.
